misleading apperances

Are you easily mislead by appearances?

Verse for the day: “for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7

Thought for the day:How many times have you been mislead by outward appearances? The world in all its glitter will (if we let it) quickly distract us from following the path of righteousness. People claim themselves of being many things, sometimes it’s not so easy to be discerning when they “talk the talk”. Usually we learn the hard way, after we stick around enough to see that they however don’t “walk the walk”. The desires of the world will soon fade away, and the more we care  about what we have and look physically, the uglier and harder we get on the inside. May you continue to keep your eyes fixed upon the Lord, for He knows your heart better then yourself. The closer we grow towards and in Him, the purer and more beautiful our hearts become.

As the song goes, “Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of this world, will grow strangely dim, in the light of His wonder and grace.” Good advice, don’t you think?

Quote of the day : “Wisdom is seeing things from God’s perspective.” Bill Gothard

May today you enjoy the simple things, and ask God to search your heart,  cleansing it from anything that may be cluttering it. Just like we can’t be sitting on a fence trying to reach for an apple in a tree, we can’t be holding onto the world while trying to reach for Jesus at the same time. It’s either all or nothing, and I can tell you, He’s worth it!

Be blessed abundantly today
