when you think of your neighbours, when you look at the person walking by, or when you even think of the person you are talking to, do you love them?
Now truly love them, love them as a brother, as a sister..do you love them how Christ loves them?I’ve talked about love before, but love is essential. for without love, we have nothing. How can we love God if we don’t love those who He loves so deeply?
Ask God to give you the love He has for others, to give you His eyes to see them how He see them, to be so evident through you that they will be able to get a glimsp of Jesus through you.
“the point of our lives are meant to be pointed towards the Lord”
When loving someone, you do everything you can to not make them stumble. you would do anything for them, you love them so much that if they mourn you mourn, if they are joyful you also rejoice. This love we are seeking can be found.
“I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying, my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit— I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the sake of my people, those of my own race” Romans 9:1-3
Paul loved the Corinthians so much that he had an “unceasing anguish” in his heart for them. do you have that love? How do you think of others? how do you view yourself compared to others?
So many non-believers are turned off from Christians for their lack of unconditional love but love for knowledge. most christians have loved to stuff words and oppions down the throats of others but never take the time to show the love of Christ with them. for 1 John 4:12 “no ones ever seen God, but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us”. those that don’t know God, don’t understand His love. When they see followers of Christ, when they walk into a church service, a youth group, even a room full of people that love Him; they should, for themselves be able to see and feel His love. They should have a glimpse of Jesus, do they?
Do you go out of your way to love others? to encourage? lift another up? to help a brother in need? Do you have an urgency, a desperation to save those who are going to hell because of the love that you have?
We have all this knowledge of God, but has that taken over the love we should have for Him? We seek to go and immerse ourselves in His word, in classes, bible studies, in youth groups, but does your life look anything like His? the way you love? the way you act?
would those around you look at you and think that’s what Jesus’ life would look like if He we’re here again walking this earth?
do you want to be known as knowledgable or as an example?
