Giving Beyond Limits

One of the hardest things to write on is giving, the beauty of blessing others and in return not only blessings ourselves but God. As it is so easy to be content in the lives we live and living for ourselves rather then meeting the needs of other.  We have turned towards self satisfaction rather then seeking need and allowing the Lord to bless others through us. For He gives freely so that we too may freely give. Just like the Israelites with the manna(food from heaven), each day He promised to provide for their needs (not wants), He promised to sustain them and yet the stored for themselves, which the next day would be mouldy and infested with maggots. We are not given blessings to hoard and keep for ourselves, we are blessed so that we may be good stewards and pass on the blessings as they come. Continuing to allow the Lord move throw us.

Why is it that giving seems to be hard? That we feel the need to save up for ourselves treasures on earth? That the more we recieve, the more we keep for ourselves and less we give unto others?

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.  Proverbs 3:27

For the world does not need just our financial support but our time, giftings, talents, love and faith. We are to be lavishing on the world all the the Lord has given us so that we may be able to transform it through His workings. He blesses us abundantly so we may continue to bless others. Whether that be through having coffee with someone, cutting your neighbours lawn, cooking a meal for a friend, donating old clothes to a homeless shelter, blessing someone with money when you know they are in need and most importantly sharing our gift of life and faith with others. Our lives are to be continually pouring out the love of God. For love does not stop at simply smiling and loving your family but also loving all those around you. There is no limits on love, there is no end to the amount of giving we can do for those around us. We have an abundance to give. How are you giving to others freely without anything expected in return?

Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8

I believe it is so important to be aware of the need around you. Jesus may you open our eyes to see need, may we not be oblivious to those around us but show us in our hearts where others need you and your grace. God blesses so that we will continue to bless and not sore for ourelves.Don’t allow your giftings and blessing go dormant – just like the israelites living off day old manna , each day the Lord has promised to supply us with needs…but to do so we much be living by faith in dependancy on Him.

May we not cling to the things of the world, the things we feel we need to survive or sustain us. May we allow our hearts to break free of the chains of self need and turn outwards to freely love others to whatever extent that may be. For we aren’t the other person alive, and this is not about us, it is about Jesus and what He desires His Kingdom to be on earth.

The Kingdom of Heaven is all that the Lord Jesus stands for, all that He is. For when we are allowing Him to shine through us and bringing forth His Kingdom here on earth, I believe it would look purely as love. May we be radical lovers of who He is, blessing others freely. Going out of our way to love unconditionally and past the limits society has placed on giving. May we not wait for others to set something up where we can partake in, but may we rise up to be the ones to do so.

Jesus, I thank you so much that you gave your life so that I may have life. I thank you that you set the example of how freely we should give and what sacrifical love looks like. Thank you that you bless us so richly so that we may bless others, for with you there is never to little, we always have enough. Forgive us for not always being as willing to give, and I ask that you may break down strong holds and chains from my heart so that I may give beyond limits in whatever area you desire me to do so. May your blessings freely flow through me into those around me. I trust in you Lord. For you are enough and nothing on this world could satisfy my need for you. May you transform me into a sacrifically giving servant of your Kingdom, may lives be transformed through your loving embrace. In your name Jesus, Amen9d1794dc3e4152b9d5a33d2235465d40

May this week you freely give to others and spread the love of Jesus. Especially as Valentine day approaches, may you show others how deeply love they truly are. Allow the Lord to freely use you as a vessel of His great love in every aspect.  May we not allow our hearts to be hardened or blinded to the need around us. Try to give beyond what you normally give, allow yourself to humble yourself so that others may be exalted and uplifted. Our lives are not only for ourselves, for we aren’t the only person alive. Jesus is the more beautiful gift of all, may we allow Him to shine through our lives into those who haven’t recieved His gift, whether that be done through other forms of giving, allow Jesus to lead you to do so!

“…Freely you have received, freely give.” Matthew 10:8
