“In the past you were full of darkness, but now you are full of light in the Lord. So live like children who belong to the light. Light brings every kind of goodness, right living and truth. Try to learn what pleases the Lord.” Ephesians 5:8-11
The city was covered in darkness and a thick cloud hovered above it. At the top of the hill sat a massive oask tree, full of life. The Sun overpowered the darkness on the hill and shone forth it’s radiance. As people played around the tree and the hill, the glory of God rained down upon them, preparing them to go forth into the darkness to bring forth His radiance. To go into the darkness, spread hope and love, release the captives, set the prisioners free and bring home the orphans.
I am so amazed at how much love our Father has for the world. As much as our heart’s break for what is going on within the world, I could only imagine how heart broken He is to see His orphans lost and seeking fulfillment in all the wrong places. Because whether we see it or not, each person needs the Lord. Each person has a desire for more out of life, a void that they are trying to satisify and fill, when Jesus is the only one who can do so. For most people they have not found that fulfillment as they have not been able to see Jesus as the one whom can satisify that for them. For we are to lavish people with love, we are to accept all with love. No matter where people are in life, what they are doing, we are not to bring condemnation but love. For love conquers all.
“When we as His people represent Him well, people will find what they are looking for, as we illustrate the desires of their hearts and how Jesus can meet them where they are. For we are His body here on earth, the only Jesus many will see. We must represent Him accurately…All our acts are to be an expression of our Father for all humanity to see” Bill Johnson-Hosting His Presence
One thing that I have done is tried to justify why sharing the truth of Jesus to others is not relevent to today, to culture, to peoples needs. Which is not true what so ever. For Jesus is more relevent than we are, He knows the hearts of all. He knows exactly what people need and are seeking. He has warned us not to conform to the ways of the world but to rise above and be lights into this world. We are to shine forth His truth, even in the midst of oppoisition and rejection. For we are not fighting against humans and their understanding, we are fighting against the darkness of the world and the enemys power. For when we speak to people in truth and love, we are not speaking merley to their minds but to their Spirit. We are to rekindle their Spirit, reminding who they were created to be in the image of, God. For when we show love to people, God is there. When we speak to people in love and His truth, those that their Spirit have been darkened will be able to see God and be ignited through truth to work in that persons life to bring them revelation of Jesus Christ. For the enemy will try to keep us from knowing who we are in Christ, but we know who we are: We are sons and daughters of the Lord God Almighty and we stand in all truth, all power, all love and all authority in Jesus’ name.
We are to shine forth into this dark world, hope, love and truth. We are to not allow fears to hold us back, for we have a fearless spirit through Jesus. How can other’s see God if we are not represting Him? How can others feel about Jesus’ unfailing love for them if we are not showing it to them? How can others hear the truth of Jesus Christ if we are not speaking it to them?
For we ourselves have been saved from darkness when we invited Christ into our hearts. We were redeemed from the ways of the world and set apart for the goodness and glory of Christ to shine through us. For Jesus is Lord, and we are not longer to fall into the ways of hopelessness as the world is, but be bringers of Jesus hope. We are not to fall into the ways of darkness but bring forth the radiant light of Jesus Christ, for all to see. For although the world may have problems, through Jesus’ followers bringing forth His Kingdom. For His Kingdom is the Kingdom of light, where it shines, no darkness can withstand it. As we walk in that light and through His power, we will penetrate the darkest areas with the light of Jesus Christ and instead of evil, bringing forth love. We are able to redeem the world from darkness and back to His glorious garden. We are to be peacemakers, caretakers, lovers, and lights. How can the world see light if those who are the source of light are not letting it shine as bright as possible?
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16
May you be so blessed and continually to allow the Lord to shine through you His radiance. Do not allow anything to hide His glory from being brought to seen but let it shine, and allow others to see that they too can recieve the hope of Jesus. For none are a lost cause, through Jesus, all can be redeemed.
